Starting Small
Bruce was already in the middle of putting together his freight van idea, though he realized the potential of using a ginormous plane for the project instead. Moreover, he believed that he would have more fun working on an airplane. Add this to the fact that it was a great way to prevent the vehicles from being turned into pieces of scrap metal and our man was convinced. He had no problems with space as he had about 10 acres to spare for the project. However, he did need to shell out a lot of funds to purchase and take the plane to him.
Purchasing An Airliner
It was in 1999 that Bruce Campbell made the decision to purchase a plane. He bought a Boeing 727 aircraft from the airline Olympic Airways for the hefty price of $100,000. After paying for it, the next step was to figure out how to take the plane from the Athens airport to his Oregon lot.
