Also known as AFRA, the organization dedicates itself to the promotion of sustainable practices for engines and airplanes. A different spokesperson claimed that anywhere from 1,200 to 1,800 planes are going to be dismantled in the following three years. Meanwhile, about 500 to 600 units will be retired yearly over the course of the next twenty years. These numbers could very well translate to thousands of homes if people follow in the footsteps of Bruce Campbell!

Campbell decided to park the Boeing 727 airplane in the woods of Oregon for several reasons. First of all, he received a job offer in the Woodsboro area when he graduated back in the ‘70s. Next, he enjoys being surrounded by the greenery. In fact, he said this on the website: “I like the area and it’s very green and Oregon is a little independent minded which appealed to me. It’s a country setting, it’s very nice. It’s more than enough for the aircraft.”
