If you haven’t heard of Netflix, we’re not sure where you’ve been for the past 21 years! The popular streaming website is proving to be some serious competition for other streaming networks, and get this…cable TV! It’s safe to say that Netflix is doing something right. The powerhouse of a company cancels shows for a number of reasons, whether die-hard fans give them approval or not! These shows have been cancelled for good, sending fans into complete turmoil!
The Get Down
The hip-hop musical The Get Down only lasted one season on Netflix. The show faced production delays, and large expenses also interfered with its success. But, the director believes the legacy of the show will live on through the fans. long with the fans. He took his beliefs to Facebook writing, “as for the real future of the show, the spirit of ‘The Get Down,’ and the story it has begun to tell … it has its own life. One that lives on today and will continue to be told somewhere, somehow, because of you, the fans and the supporters”.

Fans weren’t surprised when Hemlock Grove had its final season in 2015 because the creators alerted them beforehand. Executive producer Eli Roth said “we are so grateful to the fans of Hemlock Grove who have championed the series so intensely over two seasons. We are looking forward to taking the last and final season into some dark and unexpected places, and to giving viewers the killer finale you’d come to expect from Hemlock Grove”. We are convinced that fans weren’t upset because of the killer finale the producers gave.

Bloodline will be cancelled after three seasons, but not without words of praise. Netflix president of content Cindy Holland was quoted saying “Bloodline’s season three will be the show’s final season. Together, with our collaborative partners at Sony Pictures Television, they created a seductive show that Netflix viewers worldwide love and continue to discover. The show did great”. We’re sure producers didn’t mind hearing that!

It is both rare and impressive that a YouTuber created a show for Netflix. Miranda Sings was the woman behind the impressive feat, although, her creation was later cancelled after two short seasons. But, with five millions subscribers we’re sure she’ll create a version of the show for her YouTube channel.

Have you ever heard of a show being cancelled not once…but twice?! Yeah, neither have we. The channel AMC was responsible for this roller-coaster ride. Netflix later picked the hit-show up, the producers continued making new episodes before the third season marked the end of it’s run. But, the ending was very well executed, leaving fans content. Veena Sud said, after coming back from the dead twice, it absolutely feels like a victory lap, not only were we able to come back twice, but this final season is how I wanted to end the story of Sarah Linden from the very beginning.”

6 seasons doesn’t sound too shabby to us! Longmire streamed on Netflix for the last 3 of its seasons before being cancelled by the network. The show followed a sheriff in Wyoming and his life as an officer.

With 5 seasons and a 92% approval rate, we’re all familiar with this powerhouse of a show. After a long run on Netflix, the show has been cancelled after Kevin Spacey was accused of numerous sexual accusations. The show will wrap up their final season without Spacey.

Fans were not happy with the ending of this series. Netflix received such backlash that they decided to bring it back for a two-hour finale episode. Fans were much happier with this proper ending, offering some much-needed closure. The creator tweeted “your love has brought Sense8 back to life. (I could kiss every single one of you!)”.

Kathy Bates starred in a show called Disjointed, but it only lasted one short season. The show received awful ratings, and was later cancelled in February of 2018. Better luck next time, Kathy!
