Convair XC-99
This is one of the biggest and oldest planes in the world. The Convair XC-99 was made to haul either 400 equipped soldiers or 100,000 pounds of cargo. In 1947, the plane hit the skies for the first time. It was retired ten years later in 1957. The US Air Force utilized this piston-engine plane for heavy cargo.

Antonov An-124
This aircraft was made by the Antonov Design Bureau in the ‘80s. Since then, it has been used in military and commercial aviation. More than fifty of them were produced and then used all over the globe. It is a strategic airlift quad-jet and had been the heaviest cargo plane prior to the Antonov AN-225.
