Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI
The Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI was among the biggest wooden aircraft made in the early 20th century. It goes back to the Great War. It was a German four-engine bomber and had a closed cockpit, which was rare at the time. They only made 18 units. Six crashed, four got shot down, while two had technical problems.
Kawanishi H8K
The Kawanishi H8K came in handy when the Imperial Japanese Navy had to do its maritime patrol. It was made to cover long distances and would fly by itself. During the Second World War, it was called “Emily” by the Americans. This only saw action in 1942, but it remained in operation until the end of the war.
