North American P-51 Mustang
The P-51 Mustang is a true icon. When the Rolls Royce Merlin engine was installed inside of it, it surpassed expectations and achieved even greater heights. It was originally intended for the British as a medium-altitude fighter plane during WWII. Because of its long-range capability, this type was useful in reconnaissance missions and escorted many bombers in various conflicts. The plane travels at a top speed of 430 mph and provides a comfortable ride.

During WWII, the Spitfire was the most widely produced British aircraft. It was the only one that was made not only before, but also during the fighting. Various variants of the plane have been produced, each with a different wing design. The Supermarine Spitfire 50 is still a worthy aircraft today! Because of its role in the Battle of Britain, many people believe it to be the most important aircraft of WWII.
