Technically, for The Andover, Massachusetts Phillips Academy, there was no cheering squad, but it had a step-team. It seems that almost the same look and form of cheering occurs, but with a new name and less stunting. According to Wilde herself, “It is just another form of cheering.”

Kirstie Alley
Alley cheered for Wichita Southeast High School in Kansas before receiving her big break. She had much shorter hair at the time, too which was rare for a cheerleader. It must have strengthened her personality, however, because she was cast shortly after high school on the Cheers show.
