Pacing Back And Forth
If you see your dog pacing, they might be feeling nervous, excited, or bored – basically the same reasons that we humans have when we pace around the room! When dogs go around in circles, this is a sign of playfulness. This is why you see dogs chase one another when they meet. Yes, your dog wants to play with you!
Pointing Their Snout
Have you ever wondered why your dog sometimes freezes up, nudges their snout toward something, and lifts a front paw? Well, this is going to clear things up for you. Apparently, almost all dogs do it, but it is more common among hunting breeds. According to Dr. Ellen Vindell “Dogs are just dogs, and there are certain behaviors that probably any dog that’s a dog can do…. You’ll see a sporting dog who circles like a herding dog, and you’ll get some herding dogs who point.”
