Name That Skipper!
We all thought that Skipper’s name was never revealed. Actually, we do not only know him by his job. He actually revealed his full name in the 1964 pilot episode. He is Jonas Grumby. Do you remember when Alan Hale’s character died and they were scattering his ashes? One of the casts said, “that’s what the Skipper wanted”. That is of course, Jonas.
Breaking The Fourth Wall
The space between the audience (or camera crew) and the actors is called the fourth wall. Skipper would always look past that wall and make a face. Gilligan (Bob Denver’s character) said it started when they all believed that the world is destroyed. “We thought the world was over and began marrying each other. Mary Ann married Gilligan and had one kid, a little boy. Ginger married and had a baby girl with the professor. The blue lagoons sequence is where we see all the kids grow up.
