Keith Richards, probably the greatest rhythm player in history and one-half of the “Glimmer Twins,” co-founded the Rolling Stones with his partner Mick Jagger. 2011’s “rock’s greatest single body of riffs” was credited to Richards, according to Rolling Stone magazine. Also, Richards served as a model for Johnny Depp’s portrayal as Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. He is unique from everyone you have encountered because of this.

Paul Gilbert
Illinois’s Carbondale is where Gilbert was born and raised. He is primarily renowned for his speed and stylistic variety in fast guitar playing. When he was only 15 years old in the early 1980s, Gilbert was asked to stand in as a guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, the famed metal monster. Ozzy’s manager and producer were insistent at the time about not hiring a kid to play guitar for a man who had once led Black Sabbath. Yet, it wasn’t over until Ozzy’s producer caught Gilbert performing. Gilbert toured the nation before joining the group soon after. The majority of the guitarists on this list couldn’t play in the same style as him.
