Jason Becker

The gifted American musician, songwriter, and composer Jason Eli Becker was born on July 22, 1969. At the age of 16, he and his friend Marty Friedman established the Shrapnel Records-produced duo Cacophony, which released the albums Speed Metal Symphony (1987) and Go Off! (1988). After Cacophony split up in 1989, Becker began a solo career and has since released seven albums, starting with his 1988 debut Perpetual Burn. Eventually, he became a member of David Lee Roth’s group and recorded the song A Little Ain’t Enough with him. In 1989, Becker received an ALS diagnosis, which resulted in the end of his acting career.
