As a result, Gould fell into despair and turned to controlled substances. After a while, he ended up living on the streets.

In Sarasota, Florida, there were a bunch of pianos placed around the city. This truly made Gould happy. He would go looking for the nearest piano and play. This quickly drew attention to him. He left a cap on top of the piano and someone nearby began tipping him.
