If you happen to be a dog person, you probably know about many, many dog breeds. Not to mention, the traits each breed has – some dogs tend to have more energy than others. Some are great with kids. Some are more silly. However, you might not know about some of these rare, less-known breeds. Have you ever heard of the Xoloitzcuintli, the Borzoi, or the adorable Gerberian Shepsky?
Xoloitzcuintli
Also known as the Mexican Hairless Dog, the Xoloitzcuintli, or Xolo for short, is as the name indicates, a hairless dog. Don’t let that deter you, though, because these dogs are great companions and watchdogs. The breed has been around for more than 3,000 years, going back to ancient Aztec times. Back then, they were believed to be the canines of the gods. What’s more, this breed is completely natural, not a mix.
