Nation Mourns
Karen was interred on February 8, 1983. More than a thousand fans came to the funeral of the legendary musician. Her close friends like, Dorothy Hamill and Olivia Newton-John were also present. Even Burris was in attendance and placed his wedding ring in the casket. In addition, despite not being physically there at the interment, many of her fans from all over the world mourned Karen’s death.

The Final Performance
One of Karen’s last public appearances happened on the 17th of December 1982. It was in Sherman Oaks, California where they had a gig at the Buckley School. She performed Christmas carols for her godchildren, the kids’ friends and their classmates.
