Recent Woes
In May 2017, Woods was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. He stopped his car at a traffic lane and fell asleep while his car’s engine was still running. In an interview after the incident, he admitted to taking prescription medication without knowing its interaction with alcohol. He was given one-year probation, fined $250, and was ordered to render community service for 50 hours. In addition, he had to go through a normal drug test, and if he failed, he would have to spend 90 days in prison and fined $500 in addition to the fine previously mentioned.

During the weekend of Memorial Day, Tiger Woods gave a statement regarding his arrest. It said, “I’m currently receiving professional help to manage my medications and the ways that I deal with back pain and a sleep disorder. I want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support and understanding especially the fans and players on tour.”
