Leaning as far as she dared over the edge, Kim lay down on the rock and reached down to retrieve them. She thought that whoever had lost their keys surely needed them, but she was unaware that she had made a crucial discovery. Soon, the park would close and they didn’t like the idea of being in these mountains after dark as they were well aware of the reports. The friends hurried back down the trail, but they felt suddenly worried when they couldn’t see other hikers. Then, they felt the hairs on their arms rise.
