An American critic once said Brigitte Bardot is “undeniably a creation of superlative craftsmanship.” The star’s entry onto the world stage at a conservative time was so palpable that the feminist essay titled Brigitte Bardot and The Lolita Syndrome was penned by Simone de Beauvoir.

The ‘60s sitcom I Dream of Jeannie starred Barbara Eden, but what many people don’t know is that the show’s creators initially planned to cast a brunette for the lead role. They apparently wanted to do something different since Bewitched, another fantasy show, cast a blonde. However, Barbara Eden charmed the creators, so they did not go through with their plan. They definitely made the right decision.
