Antonov AN-225 Mriya
Check out the Antonov AN-225 Mriya, an airlift cargo plane. It was the longest and heaviest plane ever built and used six turbofan engines. This was made to transport the Buran spaceplane of the Soviets. The max takeoff weight of this aircraft was 640 tons. It has the longest wingspan of any plane in use!

Ilyushin Il-76
The Ilyushin Il-76 was constructed at the height of the Cold War. It is neat to hear that it is still in use at the moment. There are more than a thousand of it still in active service. This four-engine turbofan airlifter was initially made for the Soviet Union as a commercial freight until it was used by the military.
