Johnny Marr

English musician and singer-songwriter Johnny Marr first achieved global recognition as the guitarist and co-songwriter of The Smiths’, a band active between 1982-1987. Marr used to use his right hand to try to imitate guitar riffs using paint and strings as well. Marr has been playing in various other bands since the band disbanded and has also started a solo career.

Albert King

More than nearly any other blues guitarist, the six-foot-four, 300-pound Albert King was able to bend notes deeper and more powerfully. Many generations have also been said to have been influenced by his recordings. When his idol performed as his opening act at the Fillmore in 1967, Jimi Hendrix was awestruck. King stated, “I taught [Hendrix] a lesson about the blues,”. “I could have easily played his songs, but he couldn’t play mine.” Albert King was once nicknamed “The Velvet Bulldozer” because of this smooth singing and large size.
