In fact, Karen was dieting quite excessively, so she could catch up with their shows. In 1975, Karen’s illness got so severe that the duo had to cancel their shows in the Philippines, Japan, and the UK.

Seeking Help

Karen finally went and got help from Steven Levenkron, a New York based psychotherapist. Richard wasn’t really happy with how the professional was managing his sister’s case. In spite of her brother’s disapproval, she kept seeing Levenkron. However, one day, Karen called him and said that she was not feeling well. She mentioned that her heart had been “beating funny.”
