After being released from the hospital, Karen immediately jumped back into Hollywood, where she was under the spotlight again. On the 1st of January 1983, she attended the 25th year celebration of the Grammy Awards. That was the last time she appeared publicly. She also went right back into the studio.

Earlier on, Karen revealed that she was not really looking to enter a relationship because of her busy schedule, and she said that it was difficult to meet someone while working in the industry. Close friends, on the other hand, reported that Karen wanted to have a partner and start a family.
