Back Surgery

Tiger Woods went through a back surgery in 2014 and 2015. This made it even more difficult for him to get his form back. In 2015, his rank went down further to 104. This was his first time, since 1996, that he had fallen outside the top 100. His rank dropped even much further in May 2016 when he dropped out of the top 500, a first in all the years that he had played golf. The Official World Golf Ranking placed him at number 1,005 in July 2017. This was his worst record ever and also the only time that he was not included in the top 1,000. We mustn’t forget that Woods had managed to stay in the number 1 spot for 683 weeks, a feat that no other golf player in history had achieved.
